Chapter 105
“Arellin decides. Who’s at fault?”
She suddenly wondered why this ordeal was happening to her.
“Arellin, it’s Ciel’s fault after all, isn’t it? You said you didn’t want to perform.”
“Noel, don’t talk to me like that! Do you think it makes sense to try to monopolise this good performance?”
“Why not?! There’s only one Arellin!”
‘What the hell, why are you fighting?’
The twins went into a second round of arrows, as if they’d forgotten that they’d turned them on her.
“Hey, guys?”
The argument didn’t end until she returned home, and the twins were unable to reconcile.
“This isn’t supposed to be like this.”
Her plan to use the twins to steal items? She didn’t get to say a word because they were suddenly fighting!
“Pession, what should we do?”
Pession came up with a cool answer.
“Let it go.”
“…?”
“Leave the twins alone and come play with me.”
She flinched at the smirk on his face.
He wasn’t like this.
“No, Pession. I don’t think you understand the situation. The twins were fighting?”
“They might fight.”
“They’re twins?”
She had never seen them fight. They never fought, not even in the novels.
“Pession, have they ever fought before?”
“No?”
Pession, who had come to the Halbern manor to visit after a long, long time, laughed.
Is she the only one who’s serious now?
“Then they’ll make up.”
“No, that’s what I thought too…”
They’ve been in a cold war for days.
* * *
Sperom Manor was in for a surprise.
“What’s wrong with Ciel Confucius?”
“What’s wrong with Noel Confucius?”
“I don’t know. I heard they had a fight in Halbern.”
From Sperom’s vassals to his end-users, many were unable to adjust to the “anomalies” displayed by Sperom’s two minor demons.
How many people they have tormented with their well-matched hands and feet!
“…”
“…”
As soon as the two twins, who were right next to each other in the room, came out, their eyes met.
The users couldn’t even breathe.
“Huh!”
Twins who’ve been together all day are separated, and they don’t even pretend to look at each other, but rather stare at each other like they’re going to eat them?
Still, they’re twins, so they’ll be back to normal in a day or two, right?
Vassals and users alike burned their hope circuits.
“Why, why, why did this happen to us?”
No such miracle occurred.
The twins created hell even when they fought. Only to conclude that the Lesser Demon’s reputation was not in vain.
“Let’s call for help.”
They couldn’t stand this slab of flesh any longer.
“From whom?”
“There is only one.”
“Lady Arellin…!”
* * *
If she had the internet, she would ask.
<I have two friends who are fighting, how do I reconcile them?>
Make up with twins, they know she should have done this.
This is her first time even making friends.
“What should I do?”
She asked the people around her.
“Hahaha, they grow up fighting at that age!”
“Well, if you do some fistfights like this…”
She shouldn’t ask Sharen knights anything in the future.
Their brains are made of muscle, too.
“You are such an angel.”
“She cares about her friends, if that’s not an angel, I don’t know what is!”
“Ha, she’s so cute when she’s worried.”
Suddenly, the parenting group disappeared into their own world.
“No, I’m going to answer my own question.”
Who’s left?
“Dad?”
… Looks friendless.
“Oh.”
No sane humans around her.
She shuddered at the realization. Her social circle is so small, she know so few people, and they’re all weirdos!
“No, there’s one!”
The one person who rose like light and salt.
“Mehen!”
Arellin stormed into the office with quick steps.
“You mean how to reconcile friends…?”
“Yes!”
The answer came first from her father, who was sprawled out on the couch in the Oval Office.
“Leave them alone and they’ll reconcile themselves.”
He must have been caught by Mehen.
She snorted at his nonchalant response, and he smirked, giving her a mean look. She pushed his face away and looked desperately at Mehen.
The only common sense person she know, help!
“If you look at me so desperately, I don’t know.”
“What?!”
God, she felt betrayed.
“You know, I only have friends… because I’m the only one like that.”
Mehen glanced at Valar. He understood immediately.
“The West Canal. When did I ever let you not have friends?”
“You think I don’t know that you glare at people who try to talk to me and then hit them in the back of the head?”
“That’s because they’re weirdos trying to get at me through you. They don’t do that to normal people.”
“They ran away when they realized I had a master next to me.”
“Haha.”
Mehen glared hard at Valar once, then grinned at her.
“At least I have better relations than that bastard.”
Of course he is.
She glares at her father, who’s sneakily taken the seat next to Mehen.
“The seat next to you is empty.”
“I’m not taking it!”
Mehen’s side! Mommy’s side!
She glared at him, trying to get him to move out of the way, but it didn’t work. Finally, Mehen sighed.
“Don’t fight with her, please.”
Mehen pushed him away and pulled her into a hug. Her father chuckled and touched her cheek.
“I can’t help but touch her when she’s looking at you. I’m here, but she keeps looking at you.”
“So why don’t you just be a better father?”
“Too busy feeding your fox-like wife and rabbit-like child?”
Mehen glared at him. Her father didn’t budge.
“Am I a rabbit?”
“Cuter than a rabbit.”
“Then what are you?”
“A wolf, I guess.”
Her father eyes widened in surprise.
“Uh-huh!”
“That’s a tiger!”
“Well, do you want a tiger?”
She asked, “Is it okay to switch races so casually?” He chuckled and kissed her on the forehead.
“Don’t you have any friends around here? You should ask someone like that.”
There’s no way there’s a guy like that around her.
“No… Oh, there is!”
Pession.
“Here, kiss my dad for telling me something good.”
“No.”
She kissed Mehen coldly and got up.
“Wow, cheesy.”
Mehen teased him with a proud look.
“It’s not too early to get a kiss from Arel.”
“I’m not jealous, that’s ridiculous.”
* * *
“Pession, help!”
She wanted to run to the Imperial Palace right away, but they had a communications port.
– Huh? Help with what?
“How do we reconcile the twins?”
– Ah, that’s the one.
Pession’s expression subtly changed from being pleased that she had beaten him to the punch.
– Arel, the twins are really bothering me lately. Do you like them?
“Huh? Me? The twins? Me?”
If he means she hates them, of course not, but does she like them?
She doesn’t know, maybe she does, maybe she doesn’t.
“Do you like… one?”
She thought they were annoying but good friends. Annoying, but not bad. Yeah.
– …
Pession on the other end of the line looked uncomfortable.
– I’ll take care of them. But first, Arel, do you want to go to the festival with us?
“Yes, the festival!”
Her eyes widened.
Wow, why didn’t she think of that?
“I’ll have to ask him to go to that.”
– Arel?
“Maybe if we go out and play together, we can create a reconciliation atmosphere. Yes! Maybe then they can make up?”
– Hey, Arel?
Wow, is Pession a genius?
“Pession, thank you!”
– …
Off-screen, Pession shook his head. A pained sound escaped him.
