It was as if they didn’t care whether she was listening or not. They probably already knew that even if the princess got angry anyway, they would be protected by the crown prince, who had a higher status and rank than her. No matter how much the military was said to be a place where rank takes precedence over status, to laugh at the Duke’s daughter so openly. How ridiculous would it look?
She sighed. If it had been Seravi’s original personality, she would have been angry with the prince and his men here. And that would be the reaction the prince wanted. The prince intentionally humiliated the princess in front of his subordinates to discredit her dignity. The young Princess Seravi might not have known that fact, but his tricks were so obvious to her…
She raised her head slightly and looked at the prince, and he was looking at her with a smooth face and a mocking smile. He was probably waiting for her to blush and scream. Perhaps the reaction he was looking for was her blushing and giggling.
“Raven! How could you say that to me? What are you laughing at! Are you all laughing at nobles?! Everyone is beheaded!”
It must be the appearance of calling out the name of the crown prince at will and pointing at his subordinates. Her prestige as a princess in the empire was already at the bottom, but especially in the army of Distian, her prestige was probably a street guard dog or less. Even if she went wild over here saying that they insulted a nobleman, if the crown prince, the commander-in-chief here, didn’t accept it, then it was just a bunch of children fighting. Furthermore, since the crown prince cherished Seravi’s existence, of course there’s no way he would listen to her like that. And even if she shed tears in this place, no one would take her side. If she went wild here, it would only make her look more ridiculous. This must also be what the crown prince wanted.
For now, it’s best to just sit quietly and go in.
“I’m sorry, Your Highness. I’ll correct it from now on.”
“…?”
She just answered normally, but the prince widened his eyes in bewilderment as if he had heard something he couldn’t believe. It seemed that he was doubting his own ears, so she spoke clearly to him once more.
“I will apologize for disturbing the military discipline by wearing sloppy clothes that do not suit the status of a soldier and offend Your Highness, and I will make amends.”
Saying that, she bowed her head deeply. The prince was silent for a while. Well, it’s surprising. The perfect honorific and etiquette to the point where this faultfinding felt narrow-minded. As a plus, the prince seemed very embarrassed at her folder greeting, which contained the inner workings of the nth year of social life. Whoops. It wasn’t until the time when her back began to hurt that the prince finally ordered her to leave.
The prince’s face, which glanced at her before turning his head, was filled with confusion. Coming outside, she let out a sigh of relief. It was fortunate that the prince was still young. From the beginning, if the final boss, the 18-year-old crown prince, popped out of nowhere, she wouldn’t have the confidence to beat him, no matter how much she said it. In terms of brain, resourcefulness, and physical ability, the 18-year-old prince far surpassed her. But now, no matter how genius he was, he was still a child, only fourteen years old.
There was a breakthrough here. It was luck that he was possessed before the full-scale story progressed. If she used this point well, she could not only avoid the worst ending, but also take advantage. He seemed to hate her very much now, but changing a child’s mind was her passion. It was said that the beauty of the Elf Queen transcends humans…
‘Ugh, is there anything I can do?’
For the time being, she planned not to go near the crown prince. It’s about changing the worst image, so she would inevitably enter into a long-term battle, but she was too self-aware to be fooling around at work forever.
“Oh.”
She was standing in the middle of the hallway, and someone ran past her with a quick step. As she almost fell to the floor with a small moan, the man who was about to run past her hesitated and looked back. Except for the crown prince, he was the youngest-looking person she had ever seen.
“What! You’re interfering!”
She got very angry at the openly ignoring tone, but she managed to hold it in and opened her mouth.
“Ah, me.”
“Ah, judging by her appearance, is it that clumsy princess? That rattle chasing after the Commander?”
She was going to introduce herself, but he already knew her identity. Whether it was because he was a soldier, or if he was one of those who had ill feelings towards her, the evaluation was ruthless. But it wasn’t really her story, and he wasn’t wrong, so she nodded her head up and down without much reaction. Then his face subtly contorted. His tone also softened as if he could understand it.
“What are you doing blankly? Standing in the aisle gets in the way. Wouldn’t you rather just follow the Commander?”
“I was looking for something to do.”
“To do?”
The man looked at her with a puzzled expression. She listened to his argument lightly and nodded her head.
“If there is a shortage of workers, we will help.”
The man stared at her as if he was observing her, and then said as if he had a good idea.
“Follow me.”
She followed the man and was lost in thought. She wondered if it would be okay to blindly follow this man whose identity she still didn’t know, but there was one thing she could be sure of. The man was probably trying to get her into trouble. He must have hated Princess Seravi.
As proof, he knew that the princess was a noble, but he didn’t use honorifics at all. She didn’t know what his title was, but he was treating her as he would treat his men.
Even though the military tended to prioritize the rank over the status, if he knew her status as a princess, he would have to change his attitude even subconsciously, but there was no such thing at all. Distian’s soldiers basically had a bad feeling towards Princess Seravi. They trained hard, but Princess Seravi had tea time in front of them, mocked the soldiers in sweat, and fawned on their boss, who was well-behaved. She was that kind of existence.
The place where the man stopped was in front of the kitchen. Hmm, that’s right. It was a pretty good way to humiliate her for what she thought of in a short time.
“The kitchen is always short of workers. Who among the soldiers would like to work in the kitchen? Didn’t you say that you would help if there was a shortage of workers anywhere? Don’t say no now.”
Being a cook was one of the most despised professions in the Empire. This country did not have a developed mechanical civilization, so they had to do slaughter by hand. There was a tendency among the people to be reluctant to work in the kitchen because it was the job of the kitchen to serve others and clean up the food others have eaten. In particular, the nobility lived a life far removed from the act of cooking, to the extent that most of them had never entered the kitchen in their entire lives. Well, that had nothing to do with her.
“It’s rather good. Cooking is one of my specialties.”
She briskly rolled up her arms and entered the kitchen. Then, she felt that the man who had brought me to the kitchen to insult her was taken aback. Oh, the tools were pretty useful. She was looking at the cooking utensils here and there, when she heard a muttering voice from the man who had brought her here, as if talking to himself.
“They say it’s not like it’s a personality, but it doesn’t seem like that.”
* * *
“Today is quite… luxurious.”
Prince Raven looked at the food lined up on the table and said with a slightly puzzled face. After the chefs who worked one after another quit due to the force of the soldiers, there was no chef willing to work in the Distian unit, and eventually the soldiers were making meals on duty. Meal times have always been a struggle since only men of low rank have a career in cooking, but it seemed like he would be able to eat a proper meal after a long time.
Raven asked his subordinate, who was standing next to him, in a slightly satisfied voice.
“Have you hired a new chef?”
“No. I, actually, Commander…”
Raven asked with the intention of praising him if he had hired a new chef, but he somehow hesitated and reluctantly continued. Upon hearing the source of the food, Raven’s face became increasingly grim.
“There’s no way that crazy woman could have made sane food. It’s definitely poison-“
“I’m crazy? You’re talking too harshly.”
Raven turned his head at the familiar but unfamiliar voice from behind. His own childhood friend, a pervert frantically sticking to him, a parasite-like woman seeking his body and power, Princess Seravi, stood expressionless. She usually wore fancy and uncomfortable clothes that made viewers feel burdened, but now she felt somewhat disheveled. Probably because she was sweating profusely, her make-up, which was normally undisturbed, was now almost all gone, and her pure white dress, which she used to run wild at the slightest stain, was heavily soiled. Even so, Princess Seravi’s expression seemed unconcerned.
She said, staring at Raven with her enchanting purple eyes.
“Come on, eat it. We worked hard to make everyone’s share.”
“Work hard? You’re talking funny. I’m sure you put some aphrodisiac on the food like last time.”
“…what?”
Princess Seravi tilted her head as if she didn’t know anything. Seeing that, Raven clicked his tongue.
‘Ha, was it an act for now that you meekly apologized to me earlier in the day? She said it was suspicious.’
Raven managed to restrain himself from wanting to get angry again.

Have to say I’m surprised to see this one revived. There was a lot of negative response to the novel when someone started translating it before. Unfortunately it’s going to take awhile to catch back up to where the story left off before.
