CHAPTER 4: EACH TRUTH AND EACH HAPPINESS (III)

Part 069

Lutvan got into the carriage without saying anything. As Damian was seeing Lut Van off, smiling vaguely and waving his hand, Ailene came to her senses. The maids who hastily spooned medicine into Ailene’s mouth left the room, saying they would call Damien and Duke Donovan. Ailene, who had been staring blankly out of her window, turned her head at the sound of her door opening, and when she saw Tyrellius, her already bloodless face turned even whiter. Tyrellius, who had opened her door a little and thrust his face into her, saw that Ailene was alone in her room, and then he pushed his body in and approached her. He then looks down at Ailene, who is filled with astonishment, and chuckles. At the royal meeting, Tyrellius was taken aback by the unusual reactions of the nobles. When the meeting ended, Homer did not answer any questions, just sighed and left Tyrellius alone. While everyone was busy, Tirelius, who was free alone, wandered around the main palace where he would live and was immersed in dreams of ascending the throne, and found Ailene. She clicked her tongue and opened her mouth at Ailene’s state, which was very different from what she remembered.

“It has a lot of blemishes, but it’s still the ‘Queen’s Star’ so I guess I should take it. I should also make Duke Donoban look good. If you behave well, he will love you, so don’t worry.”

Although she would ascend to the throne anyway, she was a little worried when she saw Duke Nodovan bowing at Remina’s feet in her conference room. Although he believed that he was definitely on his side, he thought it was necessary to win the duke’s favor, so he made a generous offer to others. Ailene, who was pulling up her blanket and trying to get as far away from Tyrellius as possible, was brought to her senses by an absolutely unacceptable nonsense. Her eyes widened fiercely and she sneered in her sharp voice.

“Someone like you.”

“What? I told you that the crown prince would accept a woman who even had another man’s love. Still, I accepted it because you were the one who betrayed that bastard and told me about it in advance. So what can I do when even kneeling down and begging isn’t enough?”

“Get out now!”

At the time when Tyrelius, who was enraged by Ailene’s strong rejection, was spitting profanity and rushing toward Ailene, Damian entered the bedroom. As soon as she heard from her maid that Ailene had woken up, she came running. While I was compiling my expression in front of the door, I heard a loud noise inside the room and hurried in. I saw Ailene screaming and crawling into the blanket, and Tyrelius climbing on the bed and trying to take off the blanket. At that moment, Damian’s eyes completely rolled over. He ran towards Tyrellius, spitting curses, and grabbed the head of his head. Tirelius fell backwards while screaming and being grabbed by Damian’s hair, and Damian, who was holding the head of Tyrelius’s head with both hands, rolled to the floor with him. Franz, who had been looking bewildered from the moment Damian jumped in with his claws up, quickly approached and helped Damian, who had fallen, to his feet. Tyrellius, barely able to resist the pounding in his head, stood up and lunged at Damian, his face turning red with anger. However, it was blocked by Franz’s sharp sword, which was fired without delay. Franz took his guard stance and blocked Damian’s path.

“This crazy guy. He knows who I am and draws his sword! Can’t I get rid of him right away?”

“I am only following my master’s orders.”

“I am the one above your master, Duke Bigor! Give her away now! I will make you so angry!”

“Anyone who tries to harm you will be cut off. If you say one more word, I will cut out your tongue.”

“What!?”

“What is this?”

Terrellius, who was in a fit of rage at being blocked by Franz, who was pointing his sword at him with an aloof look on his face, entered through the open door and was delighted to see Duke Donovan and his associates.

“Duke! See what these ruthless things can do to me! Call the military right now!”

As Duke Donovan looked at Franz and Damien with a look of astonishment, Ailene lifted the blanket, stood up, and shouted.

“The crown prince tried to harm me. My friend just saved me!”

At that moment, Duke Donovan’s sharp gaze fell on Tyrellius.

“Is it true, Your Highness?”

“That’s not the point! Doesn’t the duke see this? I’m telling you to pay the interest right away!”

“That’s what matters!”

Duke Donovan shouted. When Duke Donovan, who was usually polite, came out like this, even Tyrellius, who had been running for a long time, was completely discouraged.

“Depending on the answer, the Donovan Duke family may escape Midok like this. Is it true that he tried to harm that child?”

Tyrellius had already heard at first glance that the front was divided in two and there was a shortage of troops. Without the support of the Duke of Donovan’s knights and support, he answered with an uneasy head that this situation without many on my side would become even more difficult.

“No, is that possible? I was just concerned about my daughter’s health. Well, let’s talk about this issue again later.”

Only after Tyrellius left the room in a hurry did Franz lower his sword. Duke Donovan approached the bed where Ailene was sitting with a tired look on her face and shouted again.

“What happened to you, kid!”

Lillian, who had been following behind, tugged on the duke’s collar. The duke clicked his tongue with a disapproving expression and spoke again in a somewhat softened voice.

“Why didn’t you say anything to me until this happened?”

“What should I have said to the person who wanted to send me to the crown prince?”

This time Ailene shouted. The fact that the child, who usually followed me quietly with a smile on his face, frowned, looked straight into my eyes, and shouted, was shocking, but I was even more shocked by what he said. Duke Donovan again raised his voice and denied it.

“Who! To that bastard!”

“Your father is the one who tried to get me engaged to that guy!”

“Didn’t you say you wanted to be queen?”

“That’s from when I was one or two years old and didn’t even know who the crown prince was!”

The father and daughter spoke to each other for the first time, swearing at each other. It was truly the first time we shared our true feelings with each other. Lillian tugged at the Duke’s collar once more, and the Duke, who roughly brushed his hair, lowered his voice once more.

“You refused to get engaged because you were meeting the second prince, but wasn’t it you who suddenly ran away from home?”

“Rejection? The entire Midok was preparing for my engagement ceremony. Are you going to believe that?”

“Your Majesty was so stubborn that the rumor spread strangely, but how can I send you to the crown prince because you like someone else? Did you really run away from home because you thought I was going to force you to get engaged?”

“Anyone would have had no choice but to think that way.”

“If I had run away from home, I would have lived well, but what kind of situation is this? Why didn’t you even contact me at home until you got to this point!”

As the Duke shouted in a pitiful voice, tears formed in Ailene’s eyes. She barely suppressed her tears because she didn’t want to cry in front of Damian. Duke Donovan, who was looking down at Ailene who couldn’t speak, sighed longingly and opened his mouth. His low voice was full of curves.

“I’ll prepare the carriage. Let’s go home right away.”

After nodding, Duke Ileneganodovan and Lillian turned and quietly left the room. As soon as Franz left the room, Ailene, who had calmed down, looked at Damien, who was standing awkwardly. When their eyes met, Damian smiled awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

“The lady and the knight have gone overboard. The crown prince is going to grab her by the hair and point his sword at her.”

Damian, who had rolled his eyes and lunged at her without even thinking, scratched his cheek at Eilene’s words. Come to think of it, he had a major accident. It is unlikely that the crown prince, who absolutely needs Adian’s power, will officially take issue with this, but it would be embarrassing if he were to become king. Ailene, who was looking at Damian in distress, let out a laugh and said.

“Be careful. It’s a joke.”

“Huh?”

“Why do you pretend to be smart about everything else but always can’t understand what I’m arguing about?”

“Well, I didn’t know that because of your original tone. Are you arguing? Why?”

“Because I hate you.”

Damian was speechless at the simple, direct words. Ailene laughed again at that sight.

“Did you want to keep the fight cool? Now that I’m here, I don’t know. You always kept your mouth shut and just listened. Just like now.”

“Was it like that?”

When Damien responded vaguely, not knowing how to react, Ailene withdrew her gaze and moved his body. He continued talking as if he was talking to himself, without even looking at Damian, and pulled up the messed up blanket. He had been screaming and making a fuss and he was so tired.

“That’s right. No one would listen to me, but you always listened quietly. I liked it so I always bothered you, and when I was in elementary school, I cried because I was in a different class from you, didn’t you know? I cried that I wouldn’t go to school, so my mom came to the school and changed my class.”

Ailene crawled under the blanket and sat down, leaving Damien standing there blankly not knowing what to say when he suddenly brought up a story about the past. Damian walked up to Ailene, who was settling down with her innocent face, and tidied up her blanket and covered her stomach evenly.

“You are my friend, and I like you the best. I told you that what you said was absolutely right, but you didn’t. You didn’t listen to me and only said what was right, and when I was stubborn, you scolded me not to do that, and you did everything on your own. That’s why I hate you so much. That’s why. Did I bully you? I intentionally told you to do things I didn’t like, and told my friends not to hang out with you. But you had no idea. Everything I did on purpose, you thought it was just a mistake or an accident. I kept repeating that, and at some point, you disappeared. You just quietly left me behind. When I came to my senses, I couldn’t even say I was sorry, so I walked away.”

Ailene continued speaking softly as she sat with her upper body resting on her pillow and still staring into space. Sitting on the edge of her bed, Damian listened to Ailene in silence.

“So, I was very happy that day. You told me to go eat tteokbokki. And then. We got into an accident together, right? I don’t think you remember, but you wrapped your arms around me right before I hit the truck. Well, we both died, but thanks. “I died a little late. I desperately crawled over to you and held your hand because of me. So, you came here for no reason. I was going to say sorry, but I was afraid you’d get angry so I couldn’t say anything and just said something stupid.”

Damian looked at her friend’s face carefully and listened to her story. She had a truly beautiful face, but her lips were chapped, her complexion was pale, and the areas under her eyes were dark. Her silky hair also lost its shine and became dull. Turning his head, Ailene came face to face with her.

“Don’t look at me like that. I still hate you. You seem happier without me, so I don’t like being around you because I feel like I’m nothing.”

Ailene smiled faintly as she said she didn’t like it. He wanted to laugh along, but Damian felt like he would burst into tears if he changed his expression now, so he desperately tried to keep his expression straight.

“Well, I’m glad it’s not too late. I’m so, so glad.”

This time I smiled more clearly. Looking at the smile spreading across Ailene’s innocent face, Damian opened his mouth, but no voice came out and tears flowed. Ailene raised her voice a little as Damian’s tears fell.

“I thought I had no one, but I guess that’s not the case. I had family who would tell me to come back, so why didn’t I even try to start from the beginning? I built up unnecessary connections just to show off to you, and followed you around because I was a man of high status. You go, and then you end up like this. Why do you have that kind of face? What can I do about the past? It won’t change from now on. I’m going to find people who really like me and like me. Not to show you, but for my own sake. .”

After saying that, Ailene smiled. He contorted his face and laughed for a moment, then burst into tears. He covered his face and motioned for me to leave. Damian lifted her hips to get up, then sat back down. She hesitated for two breaths, then opened her mouth.

“Actually, I hated hearing you talk. It seemed like you were always bragging about having a new toy. You were pretty, popular, had a lot of friends, and had a lot of things I didn’t have. When I was with you, I became shabby, so I walked away from you. I was trying to lose.”

Tears continued to flow from Ailene’s eyes as she raised her head.

‘I was jealous of you. I envy my friend.’

“I was embarrassed to continue, so I was just bragging. I said I was fine, that I wasn’t interested in that kind of thing, that I could live well as I was, and that’s what I did when I came here. You are the duke’s daughter, you are very pretty, you said you were engaged to the royal family, and you were really in a relationship with the prince… I tried to find something else that wasn’t compared to you. So I couldn’t listen to your story seriously, and I pretended not to notice that you were in my power to do whatever I wanted, thinking that you would be fine. I’m sorry, Eilene. I may have been able to stop it before it ended up like this, but really. Sorry.”

She held back her trembling voice and finally spoke to the end. Ailene, who was listening to Damien’s story with only her tears streaming down her blank face, burst into tears, shaking her shoulders.

“I didn’t do anything, but what if you apologize, you bad girl?”

As Ailene rolled over her back and poured down onto her bed and began to cry, Damian fell down beside her and cried as well. Franz, who was worried about Damien, who did not come out after a while, opened the door slightly, but when he saw the two people embracing and crying, he was shocked and closed the door. It was almost lunchtime, and until Damien left the room, sobbing and puffy-eyed, the old family members, blocked by Franz, had to pace around in front of Ailene’s room.
