CHAPTER 3.22

CHAPTER 3: YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO BE THERE (XXII)

Part 061

They went to ‘Yangyang’ for the first time in a long time and ate strong meat. She went to a new dessert shop that Ethan recommended and ate a sweet cake. She didn’t know where Ethan got so many delicious places to choose from. She quickly finished her share of the cheesecake and ate almost all of the strawberry mousse cake that Adrian ordered her to eat. She was once again grateful to Adrian for eating everything she liked. No, she was thankful that he didn’t eat everything she liked. Adrian always enjoyed everything. It’s pretty too. Today she told him in detail how viciously Homer treated her. She also told him that Princess Lemina was a very nice person, and that she and Ailene were scheduled to meet on Thursday. When she said that she wanted to somehow get away from the prince before the trial proceeded like this, Adrian also nodded his head.

“If you’re that worried, I’ll find a way.”

“Yes?”

“If Donovan cooperates, the job will be easier, but even if not, I am talented enough to bring the young lady with me.”

“She’s in the palace now?”

“It will be easier if you cooperate. I will ask the doctor on Thursday and if the conversation goes well, I will take action right away.”

Umm. What was this feeling of being subtly out of focus? So, your boyfriend, the commander of the capital army who was responsible for the security and safety of Midok? Was he saying that he was going to break into the palace and kidnap the second prince’s wife at the very least? When she didn’t respond, Adrian tilts his head.

‘No, don’t act cute, Commander? Isn’t what you just said not just dereliction of duty, but a full-blown crime?’

“I can’t make Adrian do that.”

“It’s better than having Damian worry.”

“It’s better for me to worry.”

When she answered firmly, Adrian became sullen. When she smiled at Adrian, who was talking recklessly, because he was pretty, he smiled with a sullen face.

‘First, let’s talk to Ailene. Also, let’s talk to Duke Donovan somehow, and if there was no solution, then let’s go and think about it. Other than kidnapping a pregnant woman, there is a way to get help from Adrian.’

She would ask Princess Lemina for a favor, and she would even try to get Homer, who treated her like a drunk, to do something. She happened to make quite a few great acquaintances. Networking was also a skill. They all help each other, right? When it was time to go back, she came down to take the carriage, and Adrian, who was about to open the carriage door, stopped and looked at her. She looked up to see what was going on, and it reached out its arm towards her in a very slow motion. He very, very slowly wrapped his arms around her and hugged her gently, wrapping his arms around her in his big arms and hugging her tightly. He buried his face on her right shoulder and hugged her tightly, so she felt like she was going to collapse into Adrian’s arms. It felt surprisingly good to be hugged so tightly that it felt a bit cramped. She placed her lips on his shoulder and expressed her concern in a muffled voice.

“If you tell me anything, I will help. Don’t worry alone.”

She deliberately talked about other things so as not to show off, but he knew that she was not at peace. She was happy and grateful so she patted him on the back, and after holding him for a while, he relaxed his arms. He cupped her cheek with his large hand and looked at her for a while. After sending Adrian, whose face was dripping with regret, she returned to the count’s residence. After taking a bath, she was about to sit down at her desk, unfolding the stack of documents given to her by an aspiring evil boss, when Jenny relaxed her tense shoulders and spoke in a sad voice.

“I think you have a lot to do these days, lady.”

“Ugh. It’s been a bit like that these days.”

“You have had more work to do since you went to the palace. What kind of person, or rather person, is taking advantage of our young lady like this?”

“It’s not like I’m forcing someone to do it, it’s something someone has to do, but I’m just doing it because I can.”

She looked up at Jenny standing behind her, and her face was full of worry. She guessed she was worried because she kept staying up late looking at documents these days. She hadn’t had a proper conversation with Jenny since her finance training started. Jenny was worried about her.

“I like it when you do what you want, but I don’t like it when my shoulders keep getting stiffer.”

“Is it that bad?”

“Yes. Does it hurt?”

“Actually, it hurts a little.”

Jenny sighed and relaxed her hands slightly. ‘Oh, it’s cool.’

“Whatever you do, don’t force it and take it easy so you don’t hurt yourself.”

“Not by force. I’d like to help if it helps. Thank you, Jenny. I’m so happy to have Jenny by my side.”

“I’m so glad I can be by your side, too.”

Jenny stopped massaging her shoulders and stroked her hair. She felt better and laughed, and she heard Jenny laugh. It was a happy thing to have someone by your side with whom you could exchange your feelings. She thought she was glad that Adrian, Jenny, and others were by her side. She was uncharacteristically involved in such an enormous task, and in fact, her heart was heavy. She had to educate herself properly and she wanted to do a good job of helping prevent scary things from happening, so she was tired from working so often. Still, it was okay. There were many people who wanted her to be okay. Having people who looked at her complexion, talked to her, laughed with her, and touched her hair gave her strength. However, was there someone around that child?

Two days went by quickly. She looked at the documents from time to time, and the transaction for Milena’s third mansion was roughly outlined. She gathered the documents and arrived at the princess’s palace on time with Teacher Adol. Then, they had lunch prepared neatly, as befits a princess. After all, the princess was a princess. She was surprised at how elegant the dining etiquette was. Could he swing a stake knife so gracefully? After the meal was over, Homer arrived again, this time holding an armful of documents. After finally reducing the pile of documents, he stacks them again with a fresh smile on his face.

She looked at him in bewilderment and he smiled like he always did, but today he wasn’t friendly at all. That’s not something you could do with your face. Homer still seemed displeased with her meeting Ailene and telling her what she knew. It wouldn’t be good for Dozern and Hubby to find out what they were preparing. She knew what he meant, but she couldn’t give in when it came to Ailene’s personal safety, so she shook her head. Although it was hard to tell what he was thinking, Homer eventually nodded. And then she went out to the garden with the princess. Today, as she was hiding behind the pavilion, the Queen Mother brought Ailene, and her class drove her maid. She went up to the pavilion and faced Ailene, and she couldn’t help but ask if she was okay.

“Ailene, are you okay?”

“Sit down first, Damian.”

Ailene sat down next to her with a pale face, no, not just pale, but completely bloodless. Every time she saw her, she thought she had a bad complexion, but the face she saw today was truly beyond words. The neck, wrists, and all exposed areas were so thin that it seemed difficult to even sit upright. It looked even more bizarre compared to the bulging belly. This was no longer a morning sickness problem. Married or not, she was pregnant with a royal child and lives in the royal palace next to her husband, so you just let people end up like this? Why didn’t this crazy bastard even look into how his wife was?

“Ailene. I don’t think this is right. I think you need to get out of here right now. You’re really, really bad.”

“For now, listen to me.”

Not only did it look good, but the atmosphere was also very bare. His voice was dry and his eyes were ugly and devoid of any life, so she kept her mouth shut for now. Ailene stared at her face for a moment, hesitated a little, and then opened her mouth.

“I know that Dozern is plotting something scary. The Queen and the Marquis Luther are all involved, but I can’t contact the outside world, so I have no idea what’s going on. So, explain what you know about the situation.”

“First of all, next Friday, Mama Hubi has to stand before the royal court. Her Royal Highness has filed a complaint against the Crown Prince for the assassination of the Crown Prince. I don’t know if Her Majesty Dozern was involved in the assassination of the Crown Prince. It’s going to be a long trial because we have to prove it whether it’s true or not. They say it is. And during the trial, the royal inspectorate is preparing to find and report evidence that His Majesty Dozern and Queen Huby provided military funds to the Duchy of Taln. I am helping with that, and if I make a mistake, the Duchy of Taln will invade Laurentyne. You can do it. Whether you get caught for assassinating the Crown Prince or plotting a rebellion with Taln, either way, it will be difficult for His Majesty Dozern and Queen Mother to stay safe. You will also be punished. So, Ailene, come out of the palace and go on a rampage. The Duke and I will talk. Let’s go back home. If you don’t like staying at home, I’ll find a place for you to stay.”

Ailene listened to her story without blinking her eyes and with a dry face. She let out a long breath and turned her head. At first glance, he thought he saw his eyes trembling. Ailene, who had been looking at the flower bed outside the pavilion for a while, opened her mouth without looking at her.

“Do you think I look funny, Damian?”

She couldn’t see her facial expression, and her voice was so dry and devoid of intonation that she couldn’t guess what she was saying, but she denied it as resolutely as she could.

“Not at all. Not funny at all.”

“Why, it’s funny. I promised to become queen and acted like this. It’s okay to laugh.”

“It’s not funny at all and I’m angry. What’s wrong with you? What did you do wrong?”

“Well, what did I do wrong? I guess I did something wrong.”

Ailere looked at her with her pale blue eyes full of moisture and a face that was trying not to cry. When she saw that face, she didn’t know what to say, so she kept her mouth shut. She carefully squeezed the back of her dry hand, and she did not avoid it. Even though she had dry hands with bulging veins and no flesh left, tears welled up in her eyes. Ailene looked into her eyes and spoke with a very tired face.

“Please call my father. I want to go home.”

“I will. I will, Ailene. Don’t worry.”

“If my father says no, I still want to get out of here.”

“Okay. Then. I’ll prepare a place where you can rest comfortably. When would be a good time? Would you like to come with me now?”

“Tell your father first. Meet here again next Monday at this time and talk.”

“You could come with me right now. Do you mind until next week?”

She was worried that Ailene might collapse at any moment, but she shook her head and got up from her seat. Her posture, with her back straight, looked somehow more precarious. Ailene’s hand, which was holding her, slipped out of my hand. She looked so broken that I thought she shouldn’t let her go like this, so she went up to her and took her hand again. But Ailene gave her a slight nod of her head and took off her hand again. She then disappeared towards the 2nd King’s Womb, leaving behind her precarious backside.
