CHAPTER 3: YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO BE THERE (XVII)

Part 056

Saturday morning, she blinked at the unfamiliar face in the mirror. Her curly curled hair was lifted loosely, her lips were much redder than usual, and her eye makeup was a mixture of pink and red, and she even painted her tear points. She sat down wearing something so gorgeous that she wondered if there had ever been a dress like this. She put on heavy necklaces and earrings, and put on three rings. It was very spectacular because she was holding a heavy and colorful fan that made it questionable whether she could spread it out and shake it.

“Isn’t it too much, Jenny?”

“You said that today’s concept is a young lady with a lot of money who is bluffing.”

Jenny laughed as she sprinkled pearls in her hair. The result that perfectly matches one’s intention was satisfactory. Didn’t she look more like a wife whose only pleasure in life is to spend money rather than a young lady full of vanity? Even with a shiny shawl wrapped around her shoulders, she feels like going to the bathroom by carriage. It’s unfamiliar, but it went well with her, and it’s because of Jenny’s crazy makeup work.

“My lady, the knight is fighting with the customer at the entrance.”

Why was Sir Franz’s title knight, a proper noun? After all, there were more knights in the house. Oh no, that’s not the problem, fight? Sir Franz with a guest? The only guest coming today was Homer, so Franz was fighting with Homer? Out of curiosity, she quickly went down to the front door and found Franz, who was full of energy, blocking Homer from entering. In line with today’s concept, Homer, dressed as if he were an aristocrat’s attendant, has a round and round smile, whereas Franz had a proper expression.

“Ah. Lady, you’ve come down. What do you want this driver to do?”

“Don’t call my lady ‘lady’ without care!”

‘No, Sir Franz. To be precise, I’m not even your girl.’

How come Homer seemed to be making fun of Franz?

“Sir Franz, Homer is my guest.”

“Yes?”

Franz looked at her with a face asking ‘how could you do this to me. What did I do to you?’ Why was he making a face that was slapped on the cheek? Today was the day she decided to visit the ‘Family Foundation for Disabled Soldiers’ with Homer. There was a sponsorship party, so she decided to participate with Homer using the donation as an excuse. She checked the atmosphere of the Foundation management staff, and Homer decided to get the documents while infiltrating.

“I’ve decided to go to a party with Homer. Homer is my coachman and Sir Franz is on my boat. You two should stay together, so don’t fight.”

“Yes? Why are you going to the party with him? What about our Duke?”

“He is going as a coachman, not as a partner.”

“My lady is going to a party, but why isn’t my lord coming?”

“Didn’t Adrian say he’s going to train this weekend?”

“Couldn’t it be that your lord doesn’t know about this?”

When she nodded, Franz’s face was stained with surprise and a sense of betrayal.

‘There, Sir Franz. I’m not going out on a date with another guy without Adrian’s knowledge. Don’t drop your shoulders. Uh-huh, the driver doesn’t make that kind of face.’

Franz, who had triumphantly blocked Homer, went to the wall and shrank. After seeing him like that, she looked back at Jenny in embarrassment, and Jenny shrugged her shoulders and went over to Franz. When Jenny whispers something while patting Franz’s shoulder, Franz’s eyes, which had shrunk like deflated balloons, suddenly sparkle. He said ‘miss’ and grabbed Jenny’s hands, then cracked his shins and laughed.

Damian didn’t know what she said, but after arranging Franz in one room, Jenny checked her clothes one last time and left a small pouch with Franz. She asked for something and he said it was something to be put up for a charity auction at the party.

Carrying Homer, who was driving a horse in a plausible manner, on the coachman’s seat, and Franz, who glanced at Homer with a disapproving look, she headed to the ‘Family Foundation for Disabled Soldiers’ located at the end of 2nd Midok Avenue. Since it was a military foundation, she thought it would be a stiff and solemn atmosphere, but it was a building with a splendid exterior that looked like it had been renovated from a luxurious mansion. Music was playing all the way to the front door, and the garden was decorated with party decorations, so it was an exhilarating atmosphere. When Homer handed out the unknown invitation, Franz and she were escorted to the Count and Lady of Joachim, the owner of the foundation and the host of the sponsoring party. After exchanging glances, Homer will disappear to infiltrate the Foundation. As they walked in following the guide, why was there a lion among the crowd? Oh, no. It’s a surprise. She thought the lion with its mane inflated was wearing a dress.

A handsome man who looks like the Count of Joachim escorts the king of the jungle and greeted  her.

“This is the first time I see you. Thank you for participating in our sponsorship party. Young lady… ?”

“I’m happy to be with you at such a meaningful event. I came running one step at a time because I was able to participate in a good cause. This is Damian Ethart.”

“Ah… the lady of Count Ethard”

As soon as Count Joachim knew that she was a member of the royal faction, he put on a trembling expression, but quickly closed it. He couldn’t openly treat people who come to donate. He gave a brief introduction about the party schedule and foundation, and then disappeared with a smile. But, why did the Countess of Joachim stand looking at her like that instead of following her husband? Through the eyes of a hungry lion preying on a fat Thomson’s gazelle. No, but if her hair swells that much, wouldn’t it be better to tie it up?

“Lady Ethard.”

“Yes, Countess.”

“I really wanted to meet you, but I’m meeting you at a place like this.”

Saying this, the Countess ran me over from the tips of her feet to the top of her head. I’m a little embarrassed because she was wondering where to start talking. It’s the first time she was talking to the Countess of Joachim, so why did she want to meet Damian?

“Oh, where have you seen me before, Countess?”

“I’ve heard a lot about it from my younger brother. Besides, he’s the subject of rumors. Hoho. But rumors tend to be exaggerated, right?”

Opening her fan and covering her mouth while laughing, no matter how you look at it, you want to give it a try, but why would a woman you’ve never seen fight like this? Didn’t she come as a guest? She said that she brought a lot of donations. Who was her brother? Oh! The former Marquis of Talus was bald, so she never imagined that it was a family history. Those ripe balds were definitely traces of blood ties. Mario had an older sister.

No, but why is she arguing with Damian? Even I, who was caught by the collar, stay still? She also spread her fan wide and covered her mouth. The jewels run in clusters, and the sound of chularak unfolds. They put jewels on the fan to use it like this. After all, Jenny’s Good Choice.

“I don’t know what kind of rumors you’re talking about. By the way, is your younger brother doing well? Since I haven’t seen you at the official residence, I sometimes wonder.”

“Of course. Our Mario is a kid who will accomplish bigger things, so he doesn’t dwell on the position of administrator. There are a lot of young girls who think that the position they got by beating a man is a big deal, isn’t it?”

“Oh my God, I was wondering how Talus Young master became an administrator, but it must have been a tailspin? The former administrator suffered because he knew he had to take an exam.”

The Count’s wife’s forehead wrinkled. Damian smiled brightly and then the Countess of Joachim folded her folding fan with a snap and glared at me.

Franz, who was standing behind her and snorting, couldn’t stand it and raised his hand to stop her from moving forward. It was really funny when an escort knight got involved in something like this .

“The count’s daughter, who is busy with work, managed to attend the sponsorship party. Apparently, the lady is the one receiving the sponsorship, but I don’t know if she can afford to take care of others.”

Was she ignoring Damian’s family now? Looking at all the jewels I’m wearing, she thought she wanted to sarcastically say that Adrian bought them for her, but these were all bought by her dad!

“Even if I’m having a hard time, I think I should look into it a lot. It must be very difficult for someone with such an empty heart to run the foundation.”

“Ha! I’m not talking recklessly, young lady.”

“Oh my God? You didn’t say a word carelessly. Countess.”

She also folded her fan and kept a bright smile. There must have been a tendon sticking out of her forehead, but she couldn’t put that in. What the hell is the case with the hostess of the party grabbing her guests and arguing with her like this? It’s not just a party, it’s a party hosted by a foundation to raise money. The Countess of Joachim, who quarrels with the person who came to donate, or the Countess of Joachim, who stands at a distance and stares at me sparking fire with my wife, and has no intention of resolving the situation, these people do not have the mindset to lead the relief foundation at all? This foundation is still rolling, yes.

“Looks like there’s nothing to be offended by carrying the Duke of Bigor on your back, young lady? Were you only dating? What a shame if you cried because you were abandoned.”

She kept talking about Adrian so much that one more tendon was about to rise on Damian’s forehead, but Franz came closer from behind as if he couldn’t stand it at all. When she raised her right hand again to show that it’s okay, she wrapped her hand around him and grabbed it. At the same time, a large hand wrapped around her left waist and hugged her. She wondered why he was doing this, so she turned her head behind him to the right, and it was Adrian.

He kissed the back of the right hand he was holding while smiling brightly as his eyes met hers.

“You carried me on your back, so don’t throw me away, Damian.”

Adrian, who was sitting right on her back and looking down at her, looked at her with a bewildered face, and she burst into laughter too. As they looked at each other and smiled, the sharp-edged Countess of Joachim subsided at once.

“Rain, Duke Bigor, it’s an honor to be at our party.”

“I’m sorry to hear you’re thinking of leaving me alone, Damian.”

“You said you had training today. How did you know this place?”

“I’ve heard good things come up at charity auctions.”

“You did? If you say that. I’ll give you the winning bid.”

“Duke Bigor, I didn’t expect to see you at a place like this. I’ve reserved a seat over there, so go.”

“It’s something you have to receive directly. Actually, I was going to come earlier, but I’m late.”

“You’re not late at all. You’re right on time.”

They approached Count Joachim, who was looking for him, and talked to her and Adrian, but they ignored them. Leaving Count Joachim and his wife behind them, they took a walk holding hands in the garden filled with bright stones. Her right hand continued to be held by Adrian’s right hand, and Adrian’s left hand, which was clinging to the waist while shouting ‘Now!’

The night energy seemed cold, so it just stuck. As he touched the thick ring on his right hand, he looked closely and said a word, worried.

“It’s not my taste, so don’t look closely.”

Adrian makes eye contact and smiles briskly.

“It suits you well.”

“It’s Jenny’s opinion about dressing like you’re going to make a big donation.” one

“Jenny is a good maid.”

Huh? Of course, Jenny was a good lady-in-waiting, but now that she thought of it, hasn’t Jenny been a little generous towards Adrian? She didn’t deliberately make me wait lately, and seems to be nice to Franz.

Ethan and she seemed to be exchanging letters often. Wonderful Jenny, had she been accumulating stakes in the Duke of Bigor before she knew it?
