Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 25.1

“Do you know where Baron Biscon has gone?”

Claire, who ran upriver, caught a group of men who appeared to be rowers and asked. However, the men hesitated for a moment when they saw the female knight on horseback asking questions. She heard a story about a female knight joining the White Lion Knights. But it was my first time seeing a female knight. They wondered if Claire was really the female knight of the rumor, and eventually heard Claire yelling.

“Baron Biscon, where is he?”

“Uh, over there…”

He said he was going home. He took a shower earlier, so it should be in front of her by now. At the men’s explanation, Claire turned her horse’s head. “Hey!” The remaining men spoke in bewilderment at her shouting.

“You’re a female knight of the Black Lion, right?”

“It must be a white lion.”

It seems that the black wolf and the white lion were confused. The man who corrected his friend’s mistake asked, wrinkled his nose.

“But why are you looking for Baron Biscon?”

“Aren’t you trying to fight?”

“Baron Biscon and that female knight? Why?”

“I heard you two don’t get along very well.”

There was such a rumor. Some people say they saw Lord Lannon and Baron Biscon fighting, while others say they saw Baron Biscon threatening Lord Lannon. Of course, people didn’t know why it’s bad. Because even Oliver didn’t know that. The men suddenly turned their heads and looked in the direction where Claire had disappeared.

“If they fight, should I help them?”

“Who?”

Taking Oliver’s side and fighting over a woman? The man frowned at the nonsense. That didn’t mean he could leave her friend Oliver behind to help that woman.

“He just finished training, so he probably has no energy at all?”

He asked him to have a drink, but he said he was tired and needed to go home and get some rest.

“You can rest at the club.”

“I know.”

Everyone is on their way to the club now. It would be more comfortable to sit in a spacious chair, smoke a cigarette, and have a drink.

“My younger brother is busy these days, so he said he should at least stay home.”

“I heard you put something on the house?”

His friend shrugged his shoulders and said to the man’s seemingly absurd words.

“I heard that Countess Biscon is worried. Because of the recent robbery that only targeted ladies.”

If that’s the case, you couldn’t do it. The men looked at each other again. It would be a bit embarrassing if she had to help either Lord Lannon or Oliver, but he had to help Oliver. One of the men who hesitated said.

“But you’re still a knight, right?”

“Yeah, that’s right. You could probably subdue Oliver with one hand, right?”

Immediately it occurred to the men that this could not be the case, but no one refuted it. The three sighed and started walking in the direction Claire had run to.

“Baron Biscon!”

‘Oh my, I’m tired.’

Oliver, who was walking while touching his stiff shoulder with his opposite hand, turned his head when he heard a voice calling him. He takes Eugenie’s only carriage on the Viscones, and has to walk or take a hired carriage to get home.

“Uh, what is it?”

A group of men on horseback were coming this way. What? Did they pay the road lease? Why were they rushing in? As Oliver thought so, he realized that they were knights of the White Lion Order.

“Lord Psylocke.” said Oliver, recognizing the man in the lead. Sir Victor Psylocke. This is the collateral of the Marquess of Psylocke. Not all collaterals are like that, but Lord Psylocke was behaving quite arbitrarily simply because she was Marquis Psylocke’s collateral. The fact that his swordsmanship skills were top-notch also played a role.

“I never thought we’d meet in a place like this.”

Oliver grinned and continued. Of course. Because there is a rowing training center here. Unless they are doing rowing training or the athlete’s family, they don’t come often. The White Lion Knights guard the royal palace, so they rarely have to leave the palace.

“Okay? I thought we’d meet.”

At Sir Psylocke’s words, the other knights around burst into laughter. Thanks to this, Oliver was certain that they had come to see him.

‘Shit.’

Everyone was dressed in knightly uniform. She didn’t know if this was a good thing. Oliver was sad that Eugenie was not here. She would have told me how to behave in this situation and seeing them dressed as knights. No, no. Immediately Oliver shook his head, thankful that Eugenie was not present. It’s not a good situation when multiple men with weapons come looking for him. And I didn’t want Eugenie to get caught up in such a bad situation.

“If you had come to see me, you could have come home.”

Oliver said that and looked around. Should he seek help? That’s what he thought, but he didn’t know where to look for help. As he said before, this was a place where only rowers and their officials come. Suddenly, the friends he had just broken up with came to Oliver’s mind. Although he is outnumbered, it may be better than facing these knights alone.

Or not.

Oliver, who was stepping back, sighed and stopped. Even if he asks his friends for help, if they try to hit him, they have no choice but to get hit. Although they are at a disadvantage in numbers, they were knights. A person holding a sword cannot be defeated, even if it is a child.

“You even brought a weapon to meet me?”

Some knights began to jeer at Oliver’s still undaunted attitude. Then Sir Psylocke raised his hand and stopped their jeers. This was why he didn’t know who was the leader of the White Lion Knights. Oliver grumbled to himself like that. This is what it means to say that Lord Psylocke acts as she pleases with her family behind her back.

“Don’t worry. I won’t take out my sword.”

“Thank you very much for that.”

Sir Shylock chuckled at Oliver, who was making a fuss. It’s ridiculous to think this is an equal fight.

He said, getting off his horse.

“I think I’m misunderstanding something. We didn’t come to fight you.”

Yeah, really? Oliver relaxed slightly. Then Sir Shylock unsheathed his sword and said,

“I came here to punish you.”

“What?”

The other knights chuckled when they asked what that meant. While they were getting off their horses one by one, Sir Shylock spoke.

“We have a quite reasonable suspicion that you are digging up the secrets of the Order and selling them to Newkirk.”

“What is he saying now?”

Oliver still couldn’t understand what Lord Shylock and the other knights were talking about. Sir Psylocke clicked his tongue and spoke to him.

“You were trying to expose the Knights’ weaknesses to our knights. I’ll give you a chance to explain why you wanted to take it away. Of course…”

“I?”

Of course, you will only be given a chance and you will be punished. Lord Psylocke was about to say that when Oliver asked in a dazed voice. I was trying to exploit the knights’ weakness? Sir Shylock said to him who was confused.

“You’re not denying that you threatened to reveal our weaknesses to Lord Lannon before, are you?”

“Oh, that.”

He did it because he didn’t like these guys harassing Lord Lannon. Oliver couldn’t believe it so he asked.

“What does that have to do with selling secrets to Newkirk?”

Did not matter. This was just an excuse to lynch Oliver, who he didn’t like. But Lord Psylocke made up a good excuse and kicked him out. He said as he approached Oliver.

“Because we are an order of knights who protect the royal family. You know that selling the secrets of the knights who protect the royal family to a foreign country is an act of treason, right?”

“Um, no, I don’t know.”

He didn’t know why that’s an act of treason. Even if you sell the royal family’s secrets to a foreign country, if it’s just that you like cats more than dogs, it’s not treason, and even your grandfather would laugh at you. Oliver raised a quite valid question.

“I don’t think it would be treason to tell Newkirk that Lord Luman’s gambling debt is five gold coins.”

Lord Luman’s face heated up after being pointed out. Then the knight next to him asked as if he was dumbfounded.

“You said I had six gold coins?”

Fight, fight. The eyes of Oliver and the other knights around him became interested. However, Lord Psylocke, who was dissatisfied with the situation, quickly suppressed it.

“Don’t change your mind!”

At his shouting, the knights’ attention turned to Oliver again. hmm. Oliver realized that they were trying to make an excuse to beat him. There was no way that one person could defeat a total of seven knights, including Lord Psylocke. He guessed he would just have to hit it. The moment he thought that, Sir Shylock struck Oliver in the jaw with his fist.

Puck!

Oliver’s body fell backwards helplessly due to the sudden attack.

‘Oh my god.’ Elliot lifted his head with a dazed feeling. For a moment she lost all feeling, and his jaw was quickly filled with pain.

“It’s crazy?”

After yelling in anger, Oliver found Lord Psylocke in front of him and the knights behind him all giggling. These kids. Just a moment ago, the feeling of wanting to get hit and end it disappeared, and the anger that threatened to kill me and you rose up. Oliver threw his body at Lord Psylocke.

“Shit!”

The two fell down as one lump. Because the knights were startled and retreated, Oliver was able to land his fist. ‘Puck!’ Oliver’s fist missed Lord Psylocke’s chin. ouch. The miss hit Oliver’s fist as much pain as it did Psylocke’s jaw. Sir Shylock, who did not miss the moment he paused, jumped up and pushed Oliver away. And before Oliver could get up, he drew his sword.
