Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 15.10

The greater the damage, the better. That evening, as Sonia walked into the Rensid mansion, she thought: Eugenie Biscon and the Biscon family who dared to reject her son would have to pay a heavy price.

“Huh?”

When Sonia entered the house, she realized that no one had come to meet her. She had no butler who always opened her door, and no maid who ran to take her hat as soon as she entered.

“Is there anyone?”

Sonia shouted and headed to this floor. She was a little late. She had no idea how much time had passed as she went to the salon of a noblewoman with whom she was friendly and told her that Lady Biscon had clearly committed an immoral act with Count Burns. But even so, the butler should have stayed and waited for her return. Sonia thought she was strange and headed to her bedroom.

“What are you doing without the lights on?”

Her bedroom was dark. She must have left the bedroom light on as the Viscountess had not yet entered the bedroom. Sonia grumbled that she didn’t buy the house or have servants, she just took the money and did nothing, so she went inside. And as she approached the table to light the lamp, she stopped dead in her tracks. A large black shadow was sitting on the sofa.

“Who, who…”

“Viscountess Sonia Rensid.”

Two blue eyes emerged from the darkness. Sonia could only barely see Elliot’s eyes and the outline of her face, but to Elliot, she was very visible. This may be because your eyes have become accustomed to the dark. He sat there and spoke to Sonia as she looked horrified.

“Viscountess Rencid. I’ll give you a chance.”

“What?”

Sonia couldn’t believe her own ears. She was about to faint just because a man outside her was sitting in her bedroom, but he suddenly started saying strange things. He may be dreaming. Elliot spoke again to her as she thought so.

“Anyway, this family is in rags. You know. I don’t even know if your son will ever see his child.”

“W-what…”

Sonia’s face twisted at the ridiculous accusation. Elliot saw her expression asking what she meant and made her sigh. He has no feelings for Viscount Rensid. If I had to choose, it would be something closer to contempt. Awning won’t last long anyway. If he’s lucky, he might have children by the woman who wants to be named Viscountess Rensid. But Elliot knew what kind of guy Awning was, and he knew that if things continued like this, he wouldn’t have long to live. Elliot said, crossing his legs.

“I don’t know whether to say sorry or congratulations. Even the Viscount will have no doubt that Awning is his child.”

Contrary to his words, Elliot’s voice contained no emotion at all. It sounded like contempt to Sonia. What he said was absorbed into Sonia’s mind a beat later. She was so surprised that she asked without realizing it.

“How did you…”

It was a rumor that briefly spread in social circles a long time ago that Viscount Rencid was not interested in women. As a result, the Viscountess had to suffer from scandalous rumors that Awning might not be the Viscount’s child. But as was the case everywhere, rumors tend to die down, and no one was talking about them now. Therefore, Count Burns, who recently entered the social world, should not know about the rumor. But Elliot knew. Viscount Rencid’s disposition and how her Viscountess suffered. He didn’t have any sympathy for her though.

“It doesn’t matter how I know it.”

Elliot was a little annoyed. He felt like he wanted to get rid of everything, including Awning and Viscount Rensid and his wife. But the results weren’t that good. So he wasn’t going to touch Awning and Viscount Rensid. As long as he didn’t attack Eugenie.

“Is it because of Eugenie?”

Count Burns seemed to know more than she thought. Sonia asked, remembering the rumor that he had returned after defeating the dragon. She heard a rumor that Count Burns seemed to have feelings for Lady Biscon. It would have been nice if Lady Biscon had been rumored to have feelings for Count Burns. Sonia didn’t like the way Eugenie walked around with her head held up straight. She must have flaws. That way, if her son’s secret was revealed, this side would have a weapon to wield. It was Sonia’s plan to suspect the relationship between Count Burns and Lady Biscon. After hearing her mother’s brilliant plan, Awning clapped his hands in agreement.

“That’s right.”

Elliot admitted obediently. It’s okay to touch him. But he thought it would be a good idea to let her know what would happen if she touched Eugenie.

“As expected of you…”

“I hope you don’t misunderstand.”

Elliot quickly cut Sonia off. He tilted his head to the side as he spoke.

“It’s my one-sided unrequited love.”

“What?”

“That’s why I’m grateful to Viscount Rensid. If you and your stupid son had stayed quiet, I wouldn’t have had a chance.”

Given Eugenie’s personality, if Awning had married meekly and quietly, even if she had found out about his secret, she would have buried it. Even though it would break her from the inside out, she probably thought that all she had to do was give up on herself. That was the outcome Elliot least wanted. So he stimulated Awning, and thankfully Awning and Viscount Rensid did what he wanted.

“I’ll give you a chance as a token of my gratitude.”

It was like that before too. He would give them a chance. Sonia was conflicted about whether she should call someone right away or continue listening to Count Burns’ story. The reason she decided to keep listening to her story was because Count Burns seemed to know more than she thought. Elliot said with a grin as Sonia nodded her head.

“I want you to announce right away tomorrow morning that you and your stupid son are mistaken. Lady Biscon did nothing wrong, and…”

“What?”

Sonia reacted to the absurd request. Elliot quickly raised his hand to silence her. And with the way he beckoned her, he said his words while Sonia was taken aback.

“And you will not have anything to do with the Biscon family in the future.”

He’s crazy. Sonia thought so. she asked, taking a step back in her hesitation.

“Why should I do that?”

That’s how she knew to ask. Elliot said expressionlessly.

“So your son will be safe.”

Sonia’s steps stopped abruptly when she heard the words threatening the safety of Awning. How dare he threaten her son? She was Viscountess Rencid, and she has seen countless things in her life that he couldn’t see. She was once threatened by her husband’s male lover.

She said, laughing as if it were ridiculous.

“Did you think such a threat would work against me?”

It’s not a threat. Elliot stood up. As the otherwise large man stood up, Sonia felt threatened and took a step back behind her. But Elliot had no intention of attacking Sonia. The noble Lady Biscon despised Viscountess Rencid, and although Elliot had no interest in her, he respected the opinion of the noble Lady Biscon.

“It’s a threat.”

Elliot took out his small box from his arms and held it out to Sonia. At first glance, it looked like a jewel box. When she asked with her expression what this was, Elliot spoke again.

“From now on, I will send you one every time you approach Biscon Mansion. Think carefully. How many opportunities will there be in the future?”

She didn’t know what that meant. Sonia flinched in surprise as Elliot approached her. But he just put a small box in her hand.

“This…”

Before she could ask what was going on, Elliot left. Just as he came, he disappeared without a sound when he left.

“What kind of crazy person is that…”

Sonia cursed behind Elliot, who had disappeared. It was because she was scared. He was a crazy person. She said something unintelligible and he tried to threaten her. Because of her fear, Sonia couldn’t open the box Elliot gave her. It is a small jewelry box the size of your palm that can fit a bracelet. But there is no way he would give her her bracelet. She was conflicted between wanting to call someone to check and not wanting anyone to know that she had been threatened by Count Burns. Finally, Sonia opened her box with her trembling hands. Inside were parts of a man’s body.

* * *

“Miss, a guest has arrived.”

She nodded at the butler’s words and stood up. She knew who it was. This was because she was contacted in advance. She sighed softly and headed to the living room. The person she decided to visit today was someone she knew. He’s Sir Marin and he’s the man who used to tell Awnings and low-quality jokes when she went to the high hat club. He said he wanted to apologize for what happened then.

“Oh.”

The moment she entered the drawing room and saw Lord Marin’s face, she couldn’t help but stop in shock. Sir Marin’s face was literally a mess. One of his eyes was bruised purple, his nose was a little crooked than she had seen him before, and his lips were swollen to twice their size. The only thing that could recognize him was his right eye, which was still intact. She asked Sir Marin cautiously, who tried to smile at me.

“Is this something Oliver did?”

Sir Marin’s face began to contort, but then stopped. He was in pain and raised his hand to touch his lips and he said:

“I think I paid too much for this.”
