EPISODE 2.9
“That’s enough, big brother. Let’s go to my room if you have something to say, Mr. Park.”
“You’re letting a strange man into your room!”
“I’m Ms. Ye Ryun’s fiancé, not a stranger.”
“But you can’t!”
Ye Bin’s stubbornness made Park Eunwoo’s gaze turn a little cold as he looked at Cha Ye Bin. He flicked his hair once in annoyance, then smiled at Cha Yebin and opened his mouth.
“Ms. Cha will be busy in the future, so she won’t have time to stay here.”
“What do you mean by that.”
“Ms Han is gone.”
“……! What do you mean, Seo ri is missing?”
“I just got a call from Ms. Seo ri’s parents. They said that she left a note asking them not to look for her.”
Oh, she’s gone to Busan.
Cha Yebin’s face was looking stupid with shock. Look at his expression. It’s a mix of shock that Han Seo-ri is gone, and a sense of betrayal toward Park Eun-woo for contacting him instead of Ye bin himself.
“Look. What did I tell you?”
“You, Cha Ye-ryun, did you know that Ms. Seo-ri was leaving?”
“Don’t ask me that now, big brother. Let’s go find her quickly.”
Cha Ye Bin staggered in shock that he was the only one who didn’t know, grabbed his robe, and hurried out.
“So what do you have to say?”
Park Eun-woo glanced at Kim, who had emerged from the kitchen with drinks.
“Let’s go up to your room.”
“Okay, Kim, please take that to my father and mother, and please don’t tell them what just happened.”
“Yes, ma’am. Shall I tell them that Mr. Park has visited?”
“No, ma’am. Please keep that a secret too. If my father finds out, he’ll be even more upset than my brother.”
There was an awkward silence as I walked upstairs to my room, leaving Kim behind. I glanced back to see the expression on Park Eunwoo’s face as he followed me, but he looked as calm as ever.
“Come in.”
Click.
The sound of the door closing rang louder. Feeling an unknown tension hovering in the air, I turned to guide him to the sofa in the room.
At that moment, Park Eunwoo tugged on my wrist, pulling me to where he was. I was now so close to him that I could see my surprised face reflected in his eyes.
“Mr. Park Eunwoo, can we please sit down and tall about it?”
“Cha Ye-ryun.”
“Mr. Park?”
“Cha, Cha, Cha.”
The hand holding my wrist tightened. As he mumbled my name, the anxiety that had been plaguing me from earlier flashed through my mind.
Park Eunwoo’s head tilted to the left. His hair, soft and bouncy, disheveled with the tilt.
“Cha Ye-ryun.”
His head slowly lowered towards my ear. I could hardly breathe with the tension.
“Who are you?”
It was a low, menacing voice.
The red siren that had been running through my head blared.
I jumped up and shoved him hard by the shoulders with both my arms. He stepped back from my touch, his face completely expressionless as he stared down at me.
Instinctively, I realized that this man was dangerous, and my hands were shaking. I couldn’t even figure out what was going on right now.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. If it’s about Ms. Han, I’m not-“
“You know I didn’t come to you to know about her.”
My finely trembling voice was easily cut off by Park Eunwoo’s firmness.
This isn’t the Park Eunwoo of Flower of Trials. He wouldn’t be able to drive Cha Ye-ryun away with such an intimidating presence. Who is this man in front of me?
“Why are you acting so uncharacteristically Mr. Park?”
“Oh, these are not the words that would come out of Ryun’s mouth, it’s more like you are acting like Cha Ye-ryun?”
“Excuse me?”
“I’m saying that these words don’t come out of your mouth because you’ve never been more like Cha Ye-Ryun than you are now.”
“What does that mean…….”
“So tell me, in your own words, who are you?”
“Mr. Park!”
I cut off his words with a scream. He stared at me unwaveringly despite my hissing cry. Instinctive thoughts of not being seen took over my mind.
“No, Cha Ye Ryun. You’re overreacting now and this will only arouse my suspicion more.
Calm down, calm down.
I constantly reminded myself that I was Cha Ye Ryun and tried to adopt her demeanor and appearance.
First, I calmed my trembling body and took a deep breath. I blinked twice and reminded myself.
This is a set, I’m an actor, Park’s character is in front of me, the camera is rolling, the lights are shining, and the cue sign is about to drop.
It’s time to become a character.
“You may be my fiancé, but you’re being very rude, Mr. Park. You’d better leave before I call someone. This won’t go over well in Jecheon.”
“Cha Ye-ryun.”
“I don’t know why Mr. Park Eun-woo is suddenly here, shouting unintelligible things at me, but it’s not funny anymore. Do I have to listen to you anymore?”
“Are you saying you’re going to pretend you don’t understand?”
“I don’t understand that either, can you clarify the subject?”
I hid my embarrassment and twisted my hair, feigning loss of interest. This is the kind of behavior she does when she’s getting frustrated or doesn’t want to deal with the other person anymore.
