After Marrying the Lord of the Underworld

Ghost World Wedding (1)

One day, Lu Yingjiu and Jing Xian were watching a ghost movie together.

The ghost movie was newly released and was said to be particularly terrifying, making people afraid to go to the bathroom at night.

They turned off the lights, sat on the sofa, and had a pile of snacks on the table. Amid the harsh screams of ghosts and humans, the two of them fell asleep in turns two or three times, leaning left and right.

Suddenly, Jing Xian remembered something and instantly became sober. He said very seriously to Lu Yingjiu, “Let’s have another wedding.”

Lu Yingjiu was drowsy and it took him a long time to react, “Huh?”

“Let’s have another wedding,” Jing Xian said, “Let’s have a grand one in the ghost world.”

Lu Yingjiu laughed, “Why so sudden?”

“I’ve always wanted to do this. Our previous wedding was too hasty, there was no prestige at all.”

Lu Yingjiu hummed in agreement.

Jing Xian knew that Lu Yingjiu liked to keep things simple.

He thought Lu Yingjiu would say “no need”, but Lu Yingjiu agreed quickly after a moment of hesitation, “Okay.”

Jing Xian was overjoyed, and immediately pressed Lu Yingjiu on the sofa, giving him a few big kisses. Lu Yingjiu helplessly pushed his head away, laughing and saying to respect the ghost movie, respect the ghost movie.

The next day, Jing Xian began to prepare.

He seemed to have planned for a long time, and even took out a long list of things like lanterns, sedan chairs, copper coins, gold ingots, flags, gongs, umbrellas, fans, and scholar’s clothes, and handed them over to his subordinates to arrange.

As for the betrothal gifts…

The entire ghost world was his, truly a kingdom as a betrothal gift.

A few days later, Lu Yingjiu saw that Jing Xian had given all the orders, and everything was proceeding in an orderly manner. He asked, “Is there anything else missing?”

“There’s one more thing!” Jing Xian’s eyes were bright, “But I need your help.”

Lu Yingjiu: ?

Jing Xian took his hand and said, “Do you remember the imported ghost I told you about…”

Lu Yingjiu: ??

Lu Yingjiu: “Are you really going to find an imported ghost?”

“Yes, if there are a few imported ghosts at the wedding, it will definitely be interesting.”

“Species invasion…”

“I’ll let them go after the wedding.”

Lu Yingjiu: “…”

At this moment, he had imagined many terrifying possibilities – for example, the ghost world would be filled with hundreds of zombies; or there would be vampires hanging outside the castle.

But in the end, he hesitated and asked, “Can try….But can you really go abroad? Can you go from the ghost world?”

“The underworld is interconnected, and can cross from the ghost world to there,” Jing Xian said, “But it will be slow, and there are natural moats in the middle.”

The same area, the ghost world was hundreds of times larger than the human world. Even with the power of priests and the strength of the mounts, it would take a particularly long time. The journey would be boring, and even the scenery was the same.

And Jing Xian wanted to hold the wedding in a month, the time was quite tight.

Jing Xian said, “Let’s take a plane abroad.”

Lu Yingjiu nodded, “Where are we going?”

“Anywhere is fine.”

So Lu Yingjiu picked a small country with beautiful scenery, booked the tickets, and took Jing Xian on the plane the day after tomorrow.

The flight took more than ten hours.

Lu Yingjiu put on an eye mask, wore noise-cancelling headphones, leaned on Jing Xian’s shoulder and fell asleep.

When he woke up, the plane had landed at a foreign airport. Walking out of the building, he was greeted by a blue sky and fresh air.

Lu Yingjiu booked a hotel, took a taxi outside the airport, and then realized and asked, “Wait, where are we going to find imported ghosts?”

“That’s easy.” Jing Xian said, “Tonight we’ll go out to find ghosts, and by the way meet an old acquaintance.”

When they arrived at the hotel, they went out in the middle of the night.

The jet lag hadn’t adjusted yet, it was quiet around, and Lu Yingjiu was quite awake. He followed Jing Xian through the streets and alleys, and gradually the ground under his feet became sticky.

He looked down and saw that the ground was full of a substance like dried blood, showing a dark red color. The walls were also covered with strange vines, which seemed to be wriggling under the pale moonlight. Something similar to Yin energy began to surge, cold and bone-chilling.

Lu Yingjiu found it quite novel.

He had never encountered foreign ghosts, nor had he seen foreign versions of Yin energy.

He asked Jing Xian in a low voice, “Is this a zombie or a vampire?”

“Neither,” Jing Xian said, “It’s an old acquaintance of mine.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the air became even colder.

Lu Yingjiu looked up and saw a figure standing on top of a building under the lonely moon. The person’s face was unclear, dressed in a black cloak, holding a huge black scythe, with countless wandering souls lingering around him, their faces twisted.

Just looking at him, a sense of oppression came over him.

It was exactly like the appearance of the Grim Reaper in legends.

Before Lu Yingjiu had a chance to take a closer look, he heard the person shout in a round tone, “Jing! Xian!”

The tone was extremely angry.

Lu Yingjiu: ?

Can this Grim Reaper speak a foreign language?

The black figure lightly jumped down from the building, and in a few steps, mixed with black fog, he flashed in front of them. The cloak was lifted by the wind, and Lu Yingjiu could only vaguely see his pale skin and tightly pursed lips.

“Long time no see.” Jing Xian raised his eyebrows and smiled, hugging Lu Yingjiu, “Are you still single?”

“Cut the crap.” The Grim Reaper said in a low voice, “What are you up to this time?”

“Traveling abroad.”

The Grim Reaper became even more angry, “Do you think I will believe you? You said the same thing last time, and then you stole my Cerberus.”

Lu Yingjiu: “…”

He now knew how San Hei came about.

“It was willing to follow me, maybe the dog biscuits were too delicious.” Jing Xian shrugged, “I’m getting married, do you have any good things, can I borrow them to play with?”

The Grim Reaper said, “No, I’m going to be broke, you go quickly.”

“Why are you so distant, guests are always welcome. Isn’t one of your castles nearby, let my wife take a look.”

The Grim Reaper said, “I’m bankrupt, I don’t have a castle anymore, you go quickly.”

“I brought you a gift.”

“No, you go quickly.”

Jing Xian didn’t pay attention to his refusal.

He snapped his fingers, and the surrounding air was filled with cold wind. A strange formation appeared on the ground, and a black bat with only a mouth appeared from it.

Lu Yingjiu still remembered this thing called “Blood Bat”.

The Blood Bat made a “yue!” sound and spat a large pool of blood on the ground.

Then it was “yueyueyueyue” many times, and the ground was full of bloody color.

Jing Xian said, “This is my gift.”

The Grim Reaper: “…”

Just when Lu Yingjiu thought that the Grim Reaper’s anger was about to reach its peak, the Grim Reaper suddenly murmured, “Wow, so cute…”

Lu Yingjiu: ??

What kind of weird aesthetics is this?

Jing Xian whispered to him, “You see, everyone likes imported ghosts.” He said to the Grim Reaper again, “Take us to your castle, and it’s yours, how about it?”

The Grim Reaper immediately reached out and hugged the Blood Bat tightly, too happy to speak.

Half an hour later, they were already in a magnificent castle.

The castle was all black, in Gothic style, with sharp tops pointing straight to the cold moon. Groups of black bats flew up, their eyes red. Spiky vines were wrapped around the iron gate at the entrance. As soon as they approached, two skeletons carrying oil lamps opened the door for them. Behind the door was a gloomy garden, with various unknown plants growing in a crisscross pattern, spikes, venom, and bright red flowers.

Howl——

A howl came from afar.

Lu Yingjiu looked in that direction and saw several agile figures flashing on the hillside.

That was a pack of wolves. Their fur was dirty and thick, and they pricked their ears to listen to the wind and grass around them. Occasionally under the moonlight, a wolf would stand upright like a human, raise the fur on its back, and look at them.

Werewolves.

Jing Xian’s eyes lit up and he said to the Grim Reaper, “Can I borrow a few skeletons and werewolves to play with?”

“Impossible.” The Grim Reaper held the scythe in one hand and the Blood Bat tightly in the other, “I don’t have many myself.”

After taking a few more steps, Lu Yingjiu heard more cries.

“Awoo awoo——” “Hiss!” “Roar roar roar!”

All in a jumble.

Looking to the side, in the darkest corner of the garden, there were quite a few zombies standing. They all turned their heads to look at them, making terrifying howls.

Jing Xian said, “Give me a few zombies!”

Grim Reaper: “Impossible!”

So they walked past, seeing the withered witches, the robust griffins, and the giant cyclops. Centaurs with weapons were guarding the main gate. When the heavy gate was pushed open, the fire basin hanging in the air automatically lit up.

They walked forward along the velvet carpet, and gargoyles crouched on the marble pillars. The oil paintings on the walls depicted the vampire dukes, each pale, handsome, and elegant, their eyes moving with their movements.

Just like the ghost world, every inch here exuded chaos and weirdness.

But obviously, the two visitors were not normal people.

Not to mention the increasingly happy Jing Xian, Lu Yingjiu found these things extremely novel when he saw them with his own eyes. He was full of academic curiosity, and even wanted to slap talisman paper on their heads to see if it worked.

Grim Reaper took them around the castle, saw all kinds of strange things, and then reluctantly asked, “Are you going to live here?” He looked at Lu Yingjiu with a glimmer of hope—

Even if they had just met not long ago, he accurately sensed that the only person who could persuade the Ghost King was this man.

Lu Yingjiu is a human.

Humans wouldn’t want to live in such a terrible place, right!

Grim Reaper suddenly felt hopeful about the future.

As expected, Jing Xian also turned his head to look at Lu Yingju.

Lu Yingju thought for half a second and said, “Okay.”

Grim Reaper: ??

Jing Xian looked at him and said, “Hurry up and lead the way, otherwise your blood bat will be gone.”

Blood bat: “yueyueyueyueyue!”

The Grim Reaper reluctantly said, “Okay, okay.”

And so, Lu Yingju and Jing Xian got a luxurious room.

The room was also decorated in Gothic style, with various skulls, black candles, and roses adorning the entire room. Tarot cards were scattered on the table, and there were exquisite demon statues in the corners.

Before leaving, the Grim Reaper also told them that the full moon tonight was very beautiful and they could go up to the spire on the west side to enjoy the moon.

So they put down their belongings and went up.

The spire was very high, and they climbed up the circular staircase, circling around and around until they reached the top. The wind on the terrace was cool, and the round moon was silent, occupying almost a third of the sky. The moonlight was cold and gentle, falling on their clothes.

From this vantage point, they could see the overgrown flowers and plants, the surging monsters, and the vast wasteland in the distance. And those sights were so far away from them, so unreal, as if everything had nothing to do with them.

Jing Xian was a few steps ahead of Lu Yingju and leaned against the railing first.

Lu Yingju walked up behind him and, with a mischievous thought, lightly pressed his hand against Jing Xian’s back and whispered, “This is a robbery! Don’t move, or I’ll push you down.”

“You’re murdering your husband, that’s too cruel,” Jing Xian said, turning around and grabbing his wrist. He gently pulled him, and their positions were reversed, with Lu Yingju’s back against the railing.

Two seconds later, Lu Yingju pushed back and sat on the railing. Behind him was a cliff-like height, and Jing Xian instinctively reached out and held his waist. Lu Yingju seemed to have anticipated his move, and he hooked his mouth and grabbed Jing Xian’s collar for a deep kiss.

The kiss ended.

They looked at each other at close range, their breaths mingling together, and their eyes were bright with moonlight.

Jing Xian stared at him intently, feeling the perfect curve of his waist under his hand. He said, “Come down, it’s too dangerous.”

“We have talismans, we won’t die,” Lu Yingju lazily replied. “And don’t you have your arms around me?” He rested his chin on Jing Xian’s shoulder and rubbed against him like a tired feline. Then he turned his head to look at the exotic land.

Jing Xian laughed in his ear and said, “What kind of monsters do you like here? Let’s bring some back, it’s not like we can’t afford it. I also brought many blood bats over, enough to bribe him.”

Lu Yingjiu thought for a moment: “I think unicorns and griffins are not bad.”

“I like zombies and werewolves.”

Jing Xian suddenly became excited, “That’s it! I’ll talk to him tomorrow!”

Under the moonlight, they chatted leisurely.

They talked about the monsters here, about Grim Reaper, and also about the various details of the wedding.

During this process, they had some disputes.

Mainly because Jing Xian wanted to put on a grand show on the wedding day.

He said, “I’ll build you a wine pool and meat forest.”

Lu Yingjiu: “…No.”

Jing Xian said, “Then I’ll perform a beacon play for you with all the ghosts?”

Lu Yingjiu: “…Are you determined to make me a demon queen?”

Lu Yingjiu firmly denied all of Jing Xian’s tyrant proposals.

Jing Xian could only give up reluctantly.

The moon was high, and the werewolves howled.

It was very late, and in the end, Jing Xian stroked Lu Yingjiu’s temples and said, “Let’s go back and rest, don’t get tired.”

“Mm.”

They walked down the tower shoulder to shoulder.

When they lay down on the soft bed, Lu Yingjiu asked, “How long are we going to stay here?”

“Up to you,” Jing Xian replied, “I think three or four days would be nice, but longer is fine. We rarely come out to play, so don’t rush.”

Lu Yingjiu nodded and closed his eyes.

However, he suddenly realized something: there are so many monsters here, they won’t be infected by Jing Xian’s love brain, right?

This thought made him a little uneasy.

But he frowned slightly, hesitated for two seconds and then gave up, thinking that it was only three or four days, how could it be possible.
